Hi guys, I know this post is a bit belated since I went to London last week, but I’ve only just had time to post xD. Went for a couple of days, visiting places such as the Tower of London and the Mayfair district of Central London. Images below!
It’s that time of the year again, Black History Month is approaching. And as in previous years, Nike always creates a pack of footwear and clothing to celebrate this occasion. This year there is a large range on offer, covering both skateboarding, basketball and womens footwear. Images are via Nike, these items will be RARE and therefore are going to sell out quickly!
Aaand another Christmas passes by, what a year this has been! Such an amount of stuff has happened and it’s only going to get better in 2014! Christmas brought with it a new Novation Launchpad (which is ace) and some other assorted goodies. I might find time to blog over the holidays but if I don’t I hope all reading had a wonderful christmas and have a happy new year!
Just over half an hour ago, Palace announced their repeat collaboration with Reebok this year, forming the ‘Workout Vulcanized’. More on these soon.
EDIT: Added some photos from the video aswell:
In light of last weeks Latest F/W 2013 The North Face x Supreme release, I decided to compile a brief history of all their collaborations into one post, to save you the time of trawling through endless archives. Enjoy! Pictures via Supreme
2007 – Genesis
February 2007 marked the start of a line of collaborations, as Supreme and TNF collaborated for the first time on two jackets. The ‘Summit Series’ jacket was chosen and wild colours, leopard print lining and Supreme branding throughout was the name of the game.
2008 Spring – City Prints
The following year another duet of jackets were released on the collaboration, once again utilising the ‘Summit Series’ jacket. This time both had bold all-over prints of a city on the jacket; one in full-colour and one in greyscale.
2008 Winter – Fleece
In the winter of 2008 another release made between this strengthening collaboration, but this time the ‘Denali’ fleece jacket was used instead of the previous ‘Summit’ windbreakers. Definitely had more use this time round instead of a fashion statement, these are hard to come by now.
2010 Spring – Pullover
After an absence of collaboration in 2009, the partnership was repaired with the release of the Expedition pullover released in March 2010. Made in an all-black, red-blue, and camouflage colorway, this jacket was also 100% waterproof.
2010 Winter – Mountain Guides & Duffles
The ‘Mountain Guide’ is one of the North Face’s most popular casual ski-chic jackets, and in November 2010 it was collaborated on with Supreme to form a selection of 3 two-tone jackets, a black-black, brown-black & red-black. Also this was the first season for an accessory to be collab’d on as well, with the ‘Base Camp’ duffle bag being used.
2011 Spring – Checkers and Sleeping Bags
2011 brought a range of checkered waterproof pullovers similar to past seasons, plus an assortment of sleeping bags and hats.
2011 Winter – Leopard
For this season an assortment of coloured leopard-prints were applied to your favorite North Face products, the ‘Nupste’ jacket and ‘Rolling Thunder’ bag to name. Alot of people have seen the likes of Drake and A$AP Rocky wearing these jackets, they’re unbelievably rare now.
2012 Spring – Map Print
Spring 2012 brought way of two jackets taking the collab back to its roots: the ‘Venture’ jacket. Accompanied by a backpack & a rolling bag, these jackets featured map print with SUPREME branding stitched as standard but also as part of the print itself. Either in a light tan or black colourway.
2012 Winter- Minimalist Corduroy
October 2012 brought forward TNF’s signature ‘Mountain’ jacket but instead of technical material featured a corduroy shell giving the jacket a more simple look. Accompanied by three also minimalistic day packs this collection had both the bags and jackets available in a choice of three colours.
2013 Spring – Reflective 3M
The ‘Mountain Guide’ jacket was re-used for this season but in place of normal material special reflective 3M material was used, blinding the drivers of cars and users of flash photography alike. Also to accompany the jackets matching Day Packs and ‘Roo II’s were released.
2013 Winter – Fur
No, not normal fur, that would be too common for Supreme. At the time of this being written, the latest collaboration between The North Face and Supreme is the fur-print ‘Nupste’ jacket and vest. In true Supreme fashion it features a wild fur pattern print with Supreme branding found throughout the jacket. Pack away hood with reflective ‘SUPREME’ logo is also there.
So, leading on from my last post, the PC is finally fixed! My handy SSD drive off Amazon was a pain to get into the computer, involving removal of the fan and heat sink for the CPU. I was surprised by how tiny the SSD was compared to a HDD, it required an adapter to fit snugly within the enclosure.
Anyways, all was good, sealed the case up and gave the PC a whirl……and it wouldn’t start. The fan just get whirring and the computer wouldn’t even boot to the BIOS screen. Now, I’m posting this incase if anyone else ever has this problem, here’s what I did to fix it:
- First try taking your RAM out, giving it a clean, and putting it back in. Even if your RAM did work before re-installing it often fixes problems.
- Another thing you can try is booting without the hard drive in, seeing if it’ll make it to BIOS, then re-installing the hard drive.
- The final step which fixed it for me was to remove the internal battery (CMOS) from the computer. Now on a desktop it’s a small watch-battery attached to the motherboard, I imagine it’s the same on a laptop. Be careful not to get static on the board and take the battery out, if you can’t with your fingers use a tool that’s made from plastic or wood, a metal screwdriver can cause damage. Leave it out for 10 minutes, then put the battery back in carefully. Give the PC a run, hopefully it’ll be working!
So yeah, the title is pretty explanatory. Last week, a combination of a massive Ableton install and a few updates caused my computer (specifically my desktop, as opposed to the other laptops I have or the iPad I’m typing this on at the moment.) to give up life. Blue screens of death, black screens of death, and everything in between. Now I had this problem before, and the solution was simply to run the System Recovery program that I can load before boot, and all my worries would be gone. This wasn’t the case this time.
Well, baseline is my computer turned itself off while running the recovery program, causing what I can only imagine as a head crash, destroying my hard drive like a bad needle drop on your favourite vinyl. Fortunately I didn’t keep anything important on the internal drive, and that’s a good thing since I have (unsuccessfully) tried to format it many times now, as to no result. My only guess is that the hard drive is the only problem with my computer, so I bought a 64GB SSD (solid-state drive for you nθθbs out there) from Amazon, which has yet to arrive, but I’m praying that a combination of this crazy-ass quick drive and a fresh Windows 7 installation should do the trick. More to come on that.
But in the meanwhile, I’ve kinda realised how much my computer takes up my time, as I’ve done loads of other stuff since I haven’t had a one to waste my time on, it’d worrying. Listening to my entire iPod library has been enjoyable (Double Cheeseburger by Odd Future at the moment), as has been playing my guitar which ironically I feel like I never have time to do. This newfound spare time (I wouldn’t call it having a ‘life’ just yet) is quite nice, shame it’ll be gone once my computer is fixed :/ .
