App Review – Paper for iPad

23 Sep

A few days ago when iOS6 was released, I had a quick check on the new app store. And on the ‘New and Noteworthy’ section I found an app called ‘Paper’. A free app with no adverts and optimised for iPad seems pretty good to me!

At first impressions the app app seemed quite clean cut with nice simple buttons and interface. One thing that annoys me is that it seems the developers expect thou to practically live your life in this app, with default sketchbooks named ‘Ideas’ and ‘Projects’. Seriously who the he’ll would?

Anyways, this app is basically a fountain pen app, with an unlimited amount of pages and sharing options to Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and your camera roll. Decent choice of basic colours aswell.

The problem I have is that you have to pay for additional brushes such as paintbrushes and outliners. Now, this would be ok at maybe £1.99 for all of them at the most, but £4.99 for them all is a laugh! But hey ho, it’s pretty awesome app even with just the pen!
